Creating Beautiful Decor with Nature’s Accessories

Natural accessories are, well, a natural, in nature inspired rooms like a sunroom or garden room. They also fit in perfectly in a room with rustic appeal, and nearly any room that features natural materials, like wood and stone, can be made more appealing with accessories that come from Mother Nature. Themed rooms, such as those with a beach motif or garden inspired design, can also be made more beautiful with the addition of natural accents. You don’t have to spend your money on decorative accents like a scroll wall grille, southwestern metal wall artwork or wrought iron door toppers to create a beautiful room.

Draw Inspiration from Nature The overall decor of the room can dictate the choice of natural accessories. For example, a room that features an abundance of natural wood and stone can look more alive and inviting with the addition of green plants. Plants with trailing habits look wonderful tucked on top of high pieces of furniture or inside bookshelves so that the vines tumble down from above. Live and dried flower arrangements are also another natural touch that adds subtle color and texture. Natural Fabrics & Materials In a nature inspired room, natural fabrics look more apropos than synthetics; choose from organic cotton, bamboo, linen, sisal, wicker and jute. From area rugs to window treatments and upholstery, natural fiber and fabric accessories will add texture. Natural fibers and fabrics, as well as other natural materials like cork, stone, wood and terra cotta create a neutral color palette. To brighten the room, add brightly colored accents, such as fresh flowers and painted wicker furniture.
